Rob Tonnsen is Vice President of Exploration at Tap Rock Resources, LLC. Prior to Tap Rock, Rob was Senior Petroleum Engineer with QEP Resources where he was responsible for the Red Wash Mesaverde field development and planning in the Uinta Basin, UT. Prior to QEP, Rob worked in various roles including prospect evaluator, reservoir engineer, completions engineer, facilities engineer, strategic planner, geologist, and mudlogger. Rob received his Bachelor of Arts in Geology/Economics graduating with honors from Whitman College in 2000 where he received the Leeds Memorial Prize in Geology. He earned his Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2006, and his Master of Business Administration with a focus on finance from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2014. Rob is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
